+1 / −1
Every member adds something; nobody rides free. Pull your weight, help out, put the kit back. That's the contribution, and that's what keeps the floor honest.
We're a community gym, not a fitness brand. The doors are open to anyone in Pontypool willing to put the work in — and the work is showing up for yourself and for the people training beside you. No sales team. No transformation funnel. Just a room full of equipment, a few volunteers who keep the lights on, and members who treat each other like they actually want to be there. The standards ask you to pull your weight. The charity keeps the floor open for everyone who will.

We don't sell you a vibe with neon signage and a juice bar. The equipment works, the floor is clean, the changing rooms are decent. Everything else is money we'd rather spend on keeping memberships at £21.99 a month.
Three quid a session, no contracts, no joining fee, no sign-up pressure. A gym membership should not be a stretch for someone paid hourly. If cost is the only thing stopping someone in Torfaen from training, the model has failed.
Members vote on what equipment gets replaced. Volunteers fix the broken kit. New class formats get trialled because someone in the free Saturday rota thought it was worth a shot. The community sets the tone — not a brand team in a meeting room.
The membership is open to anyone in Torfaen and the wider Valleys. These are the people you tend to find on the floor:
Sixth form and uni, looking for somewhere to train that doesn't ask for a parent's credit card. Cheap enough to keep through exam season, close enough to walk to from town.
An hour carved out while the kids are at school. Some come for the headspace, some for the strength training they put off for a decade. The creak of the rack and the chat by the water fountain is the same.
Night shift, early shift, four-on-four-off — the 24/7 access was built for people who can't plan around a 9-to-5 gym. Train at 5am or 11pm, no questions, no extra fee.
People coming back after injury, after pregnancy, after years of nothing. Slow lanes, no mirrors in your face, no one posting clip of your first deadlift. You rebuild at whatever pace keeps you coming back.
Long-term Pontypool residents who've been through every fitness phase since the 90s and landed here because it's the only gym that never tried to sell them a transformation. Joint-friendly, no music wars, members who respect the work.
If you run a business, charity or service in Torfaen and you already talk to people who'd benefit from training here, there are two ways to plug in. Both are low-effort. Both pay back.
We send our members to you, you send your clients to us. No formal contract, no fees, no exclusivity. Just an understanding that we both point each other at people who could use what the other does.
Joint flyers, joint social posts, joint taster sessions at your venue or ours. We turn up with kit and a volunteer. You bring the room and the people. We split the cost of any printed material down the middle.
The model only holds if Pontypool keeps turning up. Whether you come to train, come to volunteer, or come to point someone our way — the place only stays open because people like you keep choosing it.
